The Heartbeat of Campus
As a Christian community of learners, everything we do is focused on helping you take your next steps in following Jesus. We do this through our regular times in chapel and weekly small group discipleship and mentoring opportunities.
Two times a week, students and staff gather for chapel. With student-led worship and a variety of speakers, this weekly practice allows the Bethel community to engage with different perspectives and experiences.
Chapel programs include guest speakers, musical and dramatic groups, extended time of praise and worship, and faculty testimonies. Attendance is required for full-time students.
Throughout the year, we take time to focus on various aspects of our faith.
- IGNITE Series | During the fall semester, we hold the IGNITE Series, offering services every morning and evening from Monday through Friday. It is a week dedicated to deep growth with Jesus that often sets the direction for your spiritual life throughout the rest of the school year.
During the spring semester, we hold two special series: the GO Series and the Deeper Life Series.
- GO Series | The GO Series emphasizes God’s work and mission in the world and how you can join in that mission.
- Deeper Life Series | The Deeper Life Series aims to help you deepen your walk with Jesus.
This weekly evening service is an opportunity created by students for students. Strategically placed halfway through the week, join with other students to pause the busyness of the week and spend time worshiping through music and time in the Bible together.
Midweek Small Groups
Small group discipleship opportunities help take the themes and discussions from chapel, the classroom, and general spiritual practices, and help students learn to apply them to their lives. As a student, you will have the opportunity each semester to take part in a small group for several weeks. Part of the greater spiritual life programing, midweek small groups are required for most students. Topics and locations change each semester to offer a wide variety of growth opportunities.
Bethel is a community of discipleship. This occurs best in small groups and one-on-one settings. You can meet individually with a staff or faculty member to help you grow in your faith. These mentoring opportunities are often the times that some of the deepest growth can occur. You will not want to miss this incredible chance to have someone invest personally in your life!
Spiritual Life Events
Throughout the year, our Spiritual Life team offers many opportunities to help you grow in your faith. Some of these include:
As a campus we take a weekend and read through the Bible aloud, from Genesis to Revelation. You can sign up for a time to read, even at 3 a.m., and be a part of our desire for God to move on campus through His Word.
Regular student-led worship nights occur throughout the semester. They take place around a fire pit or in the Shiloh prayer chapel and happen after a special move of God on campus, or just to set apart an evening to praise God. Join in as many of these nights as you are able.
Collegiate Day of Prayer
The Last Thursday in February we join churches and colleges across the nation to pray for God to move on US campuses, including Bethel’s. Participate throughout the day in prayer walks, guided prayer stations across campus, and a time of worship and prayer at the end of the day. This is a special opportunity to join in a movement of God across the nation while not even leaving campus.
All Bethel students are given a free subscription to Right Now Media, an online discipleship resource with thousands of biblical and topical studies.
