FAQs
What documents are required to use my VA benefits at Bethel?

Where do I submit my VA documents?
You can submit your COE and DD214 (if applicable) to Bethel’s VA benefits coordinator, Jeanne Fox, in the Registrar’s Office.
How do I transfer my VA benefits from another college?
To transfer your VA education benefits to Bethel University, you’ll need to update your benefits with the VA. You can do this by completing VA Form 22-1995 (Request for Change of Program or Place of Training) through the VA’s eBenefits portal at va.gov. Once the VA processes your request, they’ll issue an updated Certificate of Eligibility (COE), which you’ll need to submit to Bethel.

How will my VA benefits be applied to my tuition and fees?
Once we’ve processed your documents, Bethel will work with the VA to apply your benefits directly toward your tuition and fees. The amount covered depends on your specific benefits plan (such as the Post-9/11 GI Bill®), eligibility level, and other institutional aid awarded.
Can I use my benefits for online courses?

Can I combine my VA benefits with other financial aid?
Yes, VA benefits can often be used alongside other forms of financial aid. However, the total aid amount can impact the amount you may receive. Our financial aid office can assist you in navigating your options.
What if I need to withdraw from a course?
Withdrawing from a course can impact your benefits, as the VA typically only covers courses that are fully completed. If you need to withdraw, please inform Bethel’s VA benefits coordinator as soon as possible to discuss the impact on your benefits.
Does Bethel participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program?
