Bethel’s main proscenium stage, in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center, seats 860 and is equipped with a state-of-the-art sound and LED lighting system. The proscenium stage is 48 feet wide by 32 feet deep and includes an orchestra pit. Directly under the stage, “The Cave” houses the Costume and Prop Shop.
Our Costume and Prop Shop houses nearly 10,000 pieces. The collections carry a variety of pieces ranging from many historical periods to modern day. These collections are then housed in several locations around campus. The Costume Shop is set up to pattern and build costumes from scratch as well as alter existing pieces.
Scenery and props are constructed in our 1,600-square-foot Scene Shop. Our sets are carefully designed and constructed for each show, often reusing pieces from previous productions in the process. You will learn a variety of skills necessary for the construction of set pieces.
