Bethel University’s 35th annual campus-wide Service Day will take place on Tues., Oct. 1, sponsored by Lake City Bank.
“Lake City Bank is proud to once again be part of Bethel University’s Annual Service Day,” said Kristin L. Pruitt, Lake City Bank President. “We are grateful for the commitment of the faculty, staff and students at Bethel University to making impactful service in our community a priority.”
Bethel students, faculty, staff will serve together throughout Michiana. The day will start at 9:30 a.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center on Bethel’s campus, where individuals will divide into groups and leave campus to volunteer at more than 20 local sites.
“Service Day is not only integral to our mission to ‘equip the whole person for lifelong service,’ but is also a vital part of the role Bethel plays in the local community. It’s our hope that by providing practical opportunities to serve, our students, faculty and staff will develop hearts that desire to continue serving long after they leave Bethel,” says Allison Stout, associate director of student activities & engagement.
There will be a variety of locations served this year, including Center for the Homeless, City of Mishawaka – Parks Department, Food Bank of Northern Indiana, Hello Gorgeous!, Hope Ministries, Humane Society of St. Joseph County, The Unity Gardens, among others. For a full list of sites, see below.
The day will wrap up around 2 p.m., with students, faculty and staff receiving lunches on location to serve longer. All classes before 6 p.m. are cancelled so students and faculty may participate.
