For more than 75 years, Bethel University has existed as THE university of the Missionary Church. Located in Mishawaka, Ind., Bethel is unashamedly Christ-focused, with academic and co-curricular programs designed to challenge the mind, enlarge the vision and equip the whole person for lifelong service. Bethel offers associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in more than 120 degree programs, taught from a Christian worldview.

Spiritual Life

Spiritual life is the heartbeat of campus, with regular chapel services, small group discipleship and mentoring opportunities designed to help students take their next steps in relationship with Jesus.

Academics

At Bethel, we provide more than 120 degree programs to study and explore. We offer in-person and online classes taught by expert faculty on campus, who are dedicated to your success and spiritual development. Students are equipped with the skills and biblical knowledge to live out their faith in their careers and callings.

Student life is vibrant and Christ-centered, providing a supportive community with lasting relationships where students can engage in activities that build character and develop leadership skills.

Scholarships

Students from Missionary Church congregations qualify for even more financial aid than is already provided at what the Indianpolis Star named in 2023 as the most affordable university in the state of Indiana. The following scholarships can provide on average 50 percent of tuition and fees for Missionary Church members, plus additional aid that can be applied for and awarded.

  • Academic Scholarships | $10,000-18,000 – All first year freshmen receive an academic scholarship based on high school GPA
  • Church Matching Scholarship | Up to $1,000 – Students who receive a scholarship from their local church will have that scholarship matched by BU for up to $1,000 per year.
  • Ministry Majors | $2,000 – Students who are from Missionary Church congregations and who are majoring in one of BU’s ministry programs can receive an additional $2,000 per year provided by the Missionary Church
  • Master of Arts in Ministry | 30% discount for Missionary Church pastors

Missionary Church Scholarship Program

The Missionary Church Scholarship program is designed to assist students and families within the Missionary Church in financing their Bethel education. Bethel University offers the following opportunities:

  • Dependents of Regional Directors | $5,000 – Regional Director status as of the date of enrollment
  • Dependents of Pastors | $2,500 – Pastoral license and currently working in the Missionary Church full time
  • Regular Attendees | $1,500 – Regular attendee as of date of enrollment
