Instructors work with students in the classroom, evaluating, teaching and leading them through the curriculum. You will educate, direct and inspire them as they pursue their goals and dreams. The content of the curriculum will be provided to you, but you and your colleagues can enhance it with real-life experiences that will enrich the education of the students. Details include:
- A time commitment as low as 3 to 4 hours per week
- Teach on campus in Mishawaka or online, from anywhere
- Materials, syllabi and training provided
- Opportunities to network with other educators
- Collaborate with other instructors, staff and students
- A wide range of schedules available, including online and hybrid courses

The Bethel faculty has approximately 75 full-time members in the Division of Arts and Sciences, Division of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Nursing. Full-time faculty positions consist of 24 hours of teaching per academic year plus non-teaching assignments (committee work, advising, etc.).
Bethel has a traditional seven-year tenure system; some credit can be given for years of service at other institutions. Tenure and promotions are based on the four responsibilities defined for faculty: teaching, scholarship, institutional service, and spiritual modeling and nurturing.
Faculty members are hired from a variety of Christian denominations; all are expected to be active in a local church and to demonstrate the relevance of faith commitments to their disciplines while being mature enough in their faith to disciple students.
