Bethel University President Barbara K. Bellefeuille, Ed.D., has announced her plans to retire June 30, 2025, after serving the university for 13 years (four in the highest leadership role). Her retirement decision comes after fulfilling her commitment to Bethel’s Board of Trustees.

“My life has been poured into educating future generations with a biblical and Christ-centered focus. I have deeply loved my work and finishing my career as President of Bethel is something I will cherish!” says Bellefeuille.

In preparation for Bellefeuille’s departure at the end of the school year, the Bethel University Board of Trustees has already formed a presidential search committee and identified FaithSearch Partners (FSP) as the executive search firm partner of the national search for Bethel’s next president.

“I am excited that our search committee has chosen FaithSearch Partners (FSP) which is one of the most respected faith-focused executive search firms in the U.S.,” says Brian Habegger, Chair of the Bethel Board of Trustees. “They have already begun to partner with us and will give us the support and expertise we need in this incredibly important process to help assess, guide and secure candidates for Bethel University’s next president.”

FSP will facilitate listening sessions with constituent groups, assist with recruitment and help review and screen potential candidates.

Bethel’s presidential search committee includes trustees, alumni, faculty, staff and administrators, as well as the president of the Missionary Church, Bethel’s affiliated denomination.
