Presidential Inauguration of Dr. Dee McDonald

Bethel University will celebrate the inauguration of its 9th president, Dr. Dee McDonald, in a formal event that honors the past while looking to the future.

Inaugural Address Speaker: Rev. LaMorris Crawford

Born on the south side of Chicago, LaMorris Crawford was only ten months old when his mother was shot to death at the young age of 17; to this day he still has no idea who his father is. Growing up without parents, in poverty and a city of violence, LaMorris found his own way of survival through gangs, drugs, popularity and basketball.

Although he was a popular athlete, this attention could not fill the void in his life. When LaMorris was 19 years old, his life was completely transformed. The first in his family to attend college, LaMorris earned both an undergraduate and graduate degree.

LaMorris and his wife Megan have been married for 17 years and have four beautiful children. They currently serve as team chaplains to the Carolina Panthers of the NFL.
