Bethel University to Present “Godspell” in November

by | Oct 21, 2026

Bethel University will present “Godspell,” a musical based upon the Gospel of Matthew, music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by John Michael Tebelak, this November in Everest-Rohrer Auditorium on Bethel’s campus. Shows will take place Nov. 5, 6*, 7, 11, 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 7, 13 and 14 at 1 p.m.

“Godspell” is a joyful and inspiring retelling of the Gospel of Matthew, bringing the teachings and ministry of Jesus to life through heartfelt storytelling, humor and an unforgettable pop-rock score.

“I’m excited to bring Godspell to the Bethel stage. We’re producing a modern adaptation of the show and placing it in an intimate setting that will be a little different from what we normally do, so I think it will be a fun and unique experience for everyone,” says Josh Maurer, Director.

This performance will be staged in-the-round, with audience seating surrounding the performance area. Because of the intimate in-the-round staging, seating is limited for each performance.

Tickets range from $15-$25 and may be purchased online at Tickets.BethelUniversity.edu or by calling 574.807.7080. Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, 2-5 p.m.

*The evening performance on Nov. 6 will be ASL interpreted.
